August is the month where Greeks are taking their leave. Not all are going on vacations, however they are relaxing and forgetting their problems.
August is also the month of fires. Lots of fire-fighters were fighting against a major fire in the island Evia, a fire that destroyed thousands of acres of wooded land.
For the first time the Parliament is open during the summer since lots of issues are to be discussed, such as the approval of the construction of the first Mosque in Athens, the constitutional revise etc.
