Two important for the Greek privatisation procedures were completed, the approvement of the sale of 14 small, decentralised airports to Fraport and the concluding of the agreement for the sale of the 67% of the port of Piraeus to Cosco. Nevertheless, the social security reform remains a big problem for the greek government. While EU reactions were positive for the plan the government submitted, undoubtedly more time for negotiations, both within the country and with EU will be needed.
However, “political” gossip is what was mostly on Greeks’ minds this week. The interview of ex-minister of Finance, Yanis Varoufakis to the journalist Alexis Papahelas, as well as the sexual scandal involving a consultant of the new leader of the Opposition were clearly predominant in social media.
